The Hon'ble Governor of Bihar constituted a High-Level Committee to review newly notified Statutes for Appointment of Assistant Professors, including Contractual Appointment of Assistant Professors, in the Universities of Bihar, 2026 (View Statutes) to regulate recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor in the State Universities of Bihar.

Subsequent to the notification of the Statutes, various representations and suggestions have been received from stakeholders, including students, research scholars, teachers, academic associations, and other interested persons, seeking reconsideration of certain provisions relating to the recruitment of Assistant Professors.

In view of these representations and pursuant to the decision taken following discussions held between the Hon'ble Governor, Bihar, and representatives of stakeholders, a High-Level Committee has been constituted to examine issues relating to the recruitment of Assistant Professors in State Universities and Colleges of Bihar. The Committee has been entrusted with reviewing various aspects of the recruitment process, including age limits and evaluation parameters.

Recognizing the importance of broad-based stakeholder participation, the Committee has decided to invite views and suggestions from students, research scholars, teachers, academic experts, and members of the public through this questionnaire. The responses received will assist the Committee in formulating its recommendations.

The inclusion of any issue in the questionnaire should not be construed as indicating any preliminary view, preference, or recommendation of the Committee. All responses will be duly placed before the Committee for its consideration.
